The quote that really struck me in this essay from Scott MacDonald (pictured right) was in regard to the typical layperson's backlash to avant-garde film upon first experience. He said that they responded thusly due to their being, "weaned on the traditions of Hollywood" (or something like that). I felt that way as a child perhaps, but I feel that there will always be those suckling from the teat of tradition and antiquated comforts. Oh and I'm really over long takes. I like to edit!
